The Letter Sent

The rain set in early tonight
Gentle breeze caressed me slight
Elm tops swayed in smooth display
Reveling in reflections on the lake
I stepped in with a heart alight
Thoughts of him ablaze.

Home was this- I thought within
My mind unsure but the indulgent sin
Went about making it mine
Did he notice his purpose enshrined?
His gaze fixed and followed me so.
Ego annihilated and self disposed

No time to think nor judge the signs
Not a moment granted for heart nor mind
A silent smile froze on my inner face
As breath was tolled, deliberate and defined
Soul hastened to leave the intruded mate
Blood shot up the vented gate
My cheeks gained blush, my body limp
He kissed with passion- the latent sin
Said not a word his God to him
But mine caressed me still
